Now Reading: Utopia

Utopia

(April 21, 2021)

Sometimes we need the riverbanks to break

To know how tame the river has been

As wild floods sing her vindication

Sometimes the change we seek and get

Becomes a chain of tears and regret

A scar on our flawless perfection

We sit on the fence of our minds

                Never loving what we have

Yet not willing to let go

We dance like masters of times

                At stark realities we laugh

With hearts full of ego

Sometimes we feel we need a break

When dark clouds besiege our hearts

Yet we drown in vague glee

Sometimes we do not know that bliss

Is the peace rolled up in our sleeves

Not the heaven our dreams see.
