I have climbed a mountain before
Once or twice,
Walking the sides of Obudu’s range
Breathing in ways so strange.

I have climbed a mountain before
Twice or thrice,
Holding on to the rocks of Jos
Wondering why life is not just.

When life’s mountains is at the fore
I see you attempt them bravely
The superwoman that you are
Holding on, not minding a scar.

I do not want to be your hero:
Someone who takes credit for your sweat
Standing at the summit that the whole world may know
That without him you’ll lose the bet.

I do not want to be your hero
The arm without which you fall to fate
The only reason for which you live
Be it a life of bliss or regret.

I do not want to be your hero
At least I want you to know
That I’ll be that hidden hand that pulls
You through and never let you let go

When you take my hand
It’s not that without me you can’t stand
But together we can
Move this mountain, or at least its sand.

And when you win the race
I and all the rest
Will lift your hand for all to see
What a brave woman you’ve come to be.

(They say Woman Crush Wednesday; but if your life is dotted with determined women, then you will say Woman Crush Everyday)

I may be practicing another profession, but the lives we live is Arts. I have had an interesting life with three best friends: my pen, my pencil and my camera! Exploring our friendship will be worthwhile.
